My Super Energy Formula

I've experimented with various food and energy drink combinations over the last two years, but my results are pretty simple. Try this out and see if works for you:

5 small meals + 2 cups of coffee a day

First meal should have some carbs in it. Afterwards, you want all salads, soups, and half-sandwiches. Try to get some fruits in the salads, not just veggies. You can also add meat, nuts, cheese, etc. as long as the salad primarily consists of the greens. One cup of coffee when you wake up, another around 2 or 3 PM. Always make sure the second cup of coffee is after "lunch." I generally split my lunch into two small meals, one between 12 and 1 and the other between 2 and 3. I then drink my second cup of coffee.

Note that heavy red meats, sweets, and alcohol are awesome and I encourage consuming them on a regular basis, just not when you're looking for a huge energy day.

Box Office Adjusted for Inflation

I saw a very fun list on IMDb today called "The Power of Film." It's a Top 25 box office list adjusted for inflation. Check it out here.

I'm glad to see the classic Disney films did that well; I'll always have a soft spot in my heart for Fantasia and company. More than any other films of their era, they have stood the test of time, but looks like they didn't do too shabby in their own time either!

Game Industry Just Keeps Growing

Just when you thought the game industry may have been hit by the recession after all, we get back to the good news: Global Game Sales Grow 11% in 2008. Interesting to see the Japanese market drop off and the UK market grow at such a tremendous rate.

Although considering our popularity on Bebo, maybe there should be no surprise.

Workout Gaming

I've been busy this month with the launch of Workout Gaming, our second website after GameZombie. For the time being, Workout Gaming is less a web TV channel and more of a blog, although we plan an eventual transition to a media heavy format a la GameZombie. In the meantime, check out all the fun articles on this emerging entertainment sector.

Fitness gaming is already a $1 Billion+ industry, and it will grow in the years to come. Despite Nintendo's general setback, upcoming fitness game releases from EA and others will continue to expand the market. We're excited to stick with it and see what happens.

Lift a Whole Mountain with Your Brain!

"Lift a Whole Mountain with Your Brain!" - Nam Do, CEO of Emotiv (in our interview with him)

Yesterday, I mentioned Hulu as being part of the future of entertainment. But looking even farther ahead, what about a technology that can read your brainwaves and allow interactive entertainment directly through your mind? Emotiv has built quite the momentum this year. In recent news, co-founder Tan Le graced last month's cover of my favorite magazine, Inc.

I encourage you to check out Emotiv's website, as there is some amazing material to look at. I'm also going to post GameZombie's awesome interview with Nam Do, co-founder and CEO, which we released in April 2008. Enjoy!
